Hellmut review

My Pros:

• The pixel art style captures the hell theme extremely well and the accompanying sound design combines with the visuals almost perfectly.
• Each character you can play as feels unique and this in turn means playing as each one stays fun and interesting throughout your time with them.
• For me the gameplay is perfectly balanced because it features a style that's fun and challenging at the same time without becoming too overbearing.
• I found the gameplay to be very addictive and no matter how many times I died I always felt the urge to return back to it time and time again.

My cons:

• Even though the gameplay is very addictive it still doesn't have lots of depth to it so I recommend that you play it in short bursts.
• Obtaining different items is pretty grindy and sometimes you can't always get what you need which was a little frustrating.
• In terms of content there isn't a great deal for you to get to grips with and this for me makes me come to the conclusion that the game is a little overpriced.

My final evaluation of Hellmut:

All in all Hellmut: The Badass from Hell is a game that incites utter chaos wherever you go and this is this game's biggest selling point because no matter how many times you fail it will still have you coming back for more punishment time and time again. At its core then this game is a shooter and the main aim is to defeat every varied enemy that appears. You're forgiven then if you think that it sounds simple because it is but don't let that fool you because the game definitely packs a challenge. Thankfully though I didn't find the challenge to be too overbearing because for me they've got the perfect balance of being fun and challenging at the same time. This in turn means that the frustration levels never get too high and the only real frustration I got from this game was the fact that obtaining certain items do require quite a bit of grinding. Thankfully grinding wasn't a problem if played in short bursts though because the game features an array of different characters that all have their own unique little touches and playing as each character was fun because of this. In terms of problems this game has a few but it still gets more right than it gets wrong so looking past the lack of content and lack of depth in the gameplay shouldn't be much of an issue, especially to fans of games of this ilk. At the end of the day then Hellmut: The Badass from Hell might not be the best shooter available to you but it's definitely a decent addition to the genre and if you're a fan of these types of games then you'll definitely enjoy what this game brings to the table because it takes you on an action-packed journey filled with lots of hellish moments thanks to the fantastic art-style and sound design.
